HEREFORD forward Miles Storey looks to be out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old went off during Hereford's 1-1 draw with Kettering Town earlier this month and is due to be out for the remaining eight league games.

"It's probably a grade two hamstring which means six to eight weeks out," said Gowling.

"He's progressed really well and doing a lot more stuff today with the physio but his season is pretty much done I would say.

"It's a blow and Miles has been a big part in what we've done this season.

"He played his part when we went 3-5-2 at Kettering. As a front two he looked really effective, playing off the shoulder.

"Having another centre-half to make runs off he looked really effective.

"It's disappointing as that's something we wanted to look at with two (up front) to see how that developed for the team.

"He's a great lad and absolutely gutted to have done that at this point of the season.

"Looking at next season contracts are up and he's not playing from now until the end of the season which is a worry.

"We brought Andre (Wright) in and Mo (Touray) played really well on Saturday (at Blyth) and then we've got Ryan (McLean), Tom (Owen-Evans) and Harry (Pinchard) so we've got a few options."

Storey has made 32 appearances, including nine from the bench, for Hereford this season scoring seven goals.

He also missed four games during November after suffering a concussion injury at Guiseley.

"He had the Guiseley one (concussion injury) and he was an absolute beast before then scoring goals and causing a threat," added Gowling.

"He had that concussion which set him back and it took him a bit of time to get back into the team.

"Now he was picking up again and got another injury. Sometimes you just have seasons like that where it's a bit stop-start and you just can't get going.

"He's been very effective with his pace and his power."

Storey signed on a one-year contract for Hereford in the summer after arriving from Inverness Caledonian Thistle

"I want to progress another year,"

"We want to keep the squad together and I have aspirations in what I want to do. I like to think I'm really ambitious and so we'll see how that goes.

"I know what I want but we'll see how that materialises over the next couple of weeks.

"We need start really sitting down, of course I know what players I want to keep but it depends on whether I'm allowed to do that or not.

"We'll have to wait and see what the outcome of that is."
